August 2019

August found Copper Hills on a dry camping adventure at Hope Valley from August 20th through August 24th, 2019.

The Hope Valley camping area is located 20.7 miles past Minden, Nevada on Highway 88 high in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Ten (10) rigs were in attendance.

Mary and Paul were the trail bosses and for the week they scheduled good food, a hike to the alpine Winnemucca Lake, and plenty of games to play.

The weather could not have been any better. It was warm (not HOT) during the day and pleasantly cool in the evening.

For those that went on the hike to the (alpine) Winnemucca Lake, they reported the hike was well worth the time and energy. For those members that stayed in camp, several of them went on a short hike to look at the ancient Indian grinding rocks. The grinding rocks were located about ½ mile from camp next to small stream in the trees. (It was a beautiful location).

The five days passed quickly and everyone left on Saturday the 24th.
