The April camp out for the chapter was held at the
Pioneer RV Park in Quincy, California. As always, Wes and Diane greeted each
camper with a smile and friendly words. They had worked very hard to ready the
park for our arrival.
The trail bosses (Harry, Nancy, Alan, Bea, Mike, and
Vivian) had a very fun filled few days planned for us. It all began on Wednesday
night with appetizers and games. Thursday was a beautiful, sunny day. Some folks
walked to town for coffee. In the afternoon, a mini bocce ball tournament was
played. That night we were treated to an Italian restaurant feel with wine
tasting, red checkered tablecloths, and lasagna and salads for dinner. Games
followed.
Friday campers enjoyed a Scottish breakfast (feast) put
on by the trail bosses. Didn’t need to eat the rest of the day after that.
Yum! If you wanted to waddle to a
table for games, there was usually someone ready to accept a challenge. The
Route 66 puzzle was nearing completion. Friday evening we were treated to a
movie.
Saturday morning the RV park owners supplied danishes
and coffee before the business meeting. The meeting reviewed plans for the state
rally at Amargosa, the intention of the spirit flag, and possible new places to
camp and venture out. There were 4 members with April birthdays and one
anniversary. After the meeting, a salad and sandwich lunch was enjoyed.
More games were played later in the day after naps, reading, and crafting.
Saturday night a few of the members enjoyed the races at the American Valley
Speedway in Quincy.
Sunday was a day for packing up, saying good byes, and
safe travels home.
It was a very relaxing well planned few days enjoyed by
all in attendance. Thank you again
to the trail bosses!
